Peniel Highlighted as an Asset to the Community

Johnstown’s Chief of Police, Craig Foust was recently interviewed by the Johnstown Tribune Democrat in regard to issues of crime and drug activity affecting the city. While he had many positive as well as constructive comments, he mentioned Peniel as a bright spot in the community’s overall outlook. When asked about treatment options in the area, he had this to say about Peniel:

While he acknowledges that the rehabilitation programs and halfway houses have important missions, he says they can do a better job. He points to the success of Peniel Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center, located just outside the city in West Taylor Township.

“You can look at that organization with pride,” he said. “We have very few problems with any of these people. This is what rehab should be doing.”

We feel very fortunate and grateful to have the support of local officials like Chief Foust as well as the Police Department. It remains a focus for Peniel to make a positive impact in our community.
