Every story of restoration begins with a moment of decision—a moment when someone finally says, “I am ready.”

Unfortunately, the people who need treatment most are often the people with the fewest resources available to pursue it. Addiction may have already cost them employment, stability, relationships and financial support. When they finally reach out for help, we do not want financial hardship to close the door on recovery.

That is why Peniel established the Open Door Initiative.

For more than 40 years, Peniel has provided men and women with the time, structure, truth and support needed to rebuild their lives. Our long-term approach does more than address substance use. We work to restore the whole person so that individuals can become the healthy mothers, fathers, husbands, wives and family members God created them to be.

Your Gift Helps Keep the Door Open

Through the Open Door Initiative, your generosity helps Peniel:

• Make treatment accessible to individuals with little or no ability to pay.

• Sustain the daily care, counseling, structure and support required for long-term recovery.

• Provide meals, housing, transportation and other essential needs.

• Strengthen the faithful team that serves our residents every day.

• Reach more families, churches and communities with the message that recovery is possible.

At our 2026 Graduation, friends of Peniel helped launch this effort with more than $25,000 in gifts and commitments. That same day, we celebrated ten graduates—more than twice the number from the previous year.

Each graduate represents far more than one changed life. A family begins to heal. Children regain a parent. Communities receive back men and women prepared to live, work, serve and lead differently.

But there are still more stories waiting to be written.
